如何拒絕

在某些情況下,如何恰當、有禮貌又不失專業的向同事、朋友、客戶、老闆say no


如何拒絕How to nicely say no, to colleagues, client, and your supervisor.

拒絕除了say no to …之外,也可以說refuse/ reject/ decline或是turn…down. Turn down.
No…now talk to the hand, cos the face isn’t listening.

Talk to the hand 懶得理你,誰鳥你,我不想聽,你跟我的手說好了。

首先同事的邀約,不外乎是下班或是週末要去哪邊玩耍吃飯:可能會有以下的狀況
Are you free on Thursday night? Do you have plans for Friday night?
Would you like to go to the movies with me?
We’re having a party, care to join us? Are you coming?
I’d like to invite you to dinner

拒絕前,可以當個好人,先說對方那個活動很不錯:xxx sounds good, but…
這種拒絕很簡單,No, but thanks anyway.
口語常見的:No can do.不能做,無法
講個理由:Sorry, but I already have plans. Sorry, but I’m not available.
客氣一點的:I’m afraid I can’t. I’ve got other plans
其實想要去,可是真的不行?I wish I could, but (I have other plans). I’d love to, but
謝謝對方先:thanks for asking. Thanks for the invite but…
下次好嗎?Can I take a rain check? rain check字面上是雨天支票,起源是戶外球賽因為下雨需要取消,所以就補這張票給你,下次入場。Can I take a rain check? I must finish the report tonight.
改天的說法:Not today. Maybe some other time. Maybe next time. Another day, perhaps? I,d  love to, but some other time.

常見的理由還有:
沒心情:I’m not in the mood (for movies) today.
不舒服:I’m not feeling well today.
工作太多:I’m swamped. I’m tied up at work. I’m up to my ears in work.
湊起來:Oh…party sounds good, I’d love to , but I’m not feeling well today. Maybe some other time.
揪團團購,或是要一起去聽演唱會、露營,不想參加:Count me out this time. You guys enjoy.
工作上的請求,例如Can you finish this report by 4pm?
不行:也可以說No can do. I’m afraid I can’t. 或是Not possible. Impossible. It’s not going to
happen.
拒絕對方告白:Sorry, I already have a boyfriend/girlfriend. I’m married.

長一點的:I am really flattered that you have asked me out, but I am not interested in dating right now, or I think we would be better as friends." Or "I am just starting a new relationship with someone else

愛眼的拒絕:"Gosh, I really wish I could, but it's just (count to four silently)... impossible," and shake your head.

客戶(無理)的要求砍報價
看公司規定:
We usually don’t offer discounts. This is the lowest price we can offer.

人工和原物料漲了:
Because labor and material costs have risen, we need to raise our prices. As the price of the raw materials is a lot higher than before/ keeps increasing, we have to raise the price of our product.

原物料已經漲了,但我們自己吸收了:
As you know, the raw material cost has increased several times. Our quotation should have been higher but we decided to absorb the increased cost.

強調我們的產品品質:
We have discussed your request for a discount. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer more than a ___% discount. We believe the price is fair, considering the high quality of our products.

最後感謝加哀兵政策:
We highly appreciate your understanding that there is currently no room for any price reduction.

為了你好快下單,不然就要漲了:
We're actually looking at reviewing prices upwards. Before the price goes up further, your early confirmation of a new order is recommended.

再砍下去我們就沒得賺了:
It is with regret I have to say that we cannot agree to your request for
discount as our prices are already lowered and if we go any lower, our profit margins will get squeezed far too much. //
At this price, there is no profit for us. //
This price falls below our break-even point.

喬價格:接受砍價,但是數量要下多一點呀:
I am afraid we won’t be able to lower the price, but we can give you a ___% discount of if you can place an order of ___ units.

幫你免運:We may not be able to reduce the price, but we can pay for shipping.

We thank you for your letter of _______ (Date), but feel that you find our quotations for ____ on the higher side. We may again assure you that they are quite reasonable so as to allow you ample profit margins. Therefore, we cannot allow only additional discount to our usual rate of ___%. If we concede to your request, then there would be hardly left any profit for us. Despite the rising cost in XX, XX and labor rate/charges, we have kept our prices to the same level over two years. But soon we are thinking of on upward revision in our prices in view of the abovementioned factors. In fact, our prices are on lowering side and very competitive.
You have been our long and trusted customer and we would have not liked to refuse some additional discount, but in the current circumstances, it is almost impossible for us. We think you appreciate our position. We hope you will reconsider the matter and send your order at the price we have quoted.

提早出貨:
pull in the delivery date from ___ to ___. //
advance the time of delivery.
Schedule the shipment earlier
Ex: We are sorry to inform that we cannot advance the time of delivery // reduce the lead time

我們會盡量:We will manage to finish production ahead of schedule.
無法提早交貨,因為產線滿了:since the production department is heavily busy with orders for months ahead. // The production line is at capacity.
會影響到其他人:Pulling in your order would mean pushing out others’. It’s not likely we’ll be able to do it. But we’ll try and make arrangements to pull in your order.
要求產線加班,礙於一例一修限制。下班才交代工作,所以要加班才能完成:
If the work assignment is given after work, we’ll need to work overtime. But according to the current Labor Standards Act, the maximum allowable overtime of a worker is 56 hours per month.
Our working and overtime hours are strictly regulated. However, we will do our best to speed up the production.
借材料,我們自己也缺料:I’m sorry, but we are lacking the raw materials too. If we have extra materials, we would be happy to lend you.

想要知道其他品牌廠的出貨量或金額,但是業務不能給。
We are always pleased to hear from a valued customer. I regret to say that we cannot agree to your request for information regarding the shipped quantity of other brands. It’s strictly confidential.
We hope you can understand we keep such information private and confidential.
I sincerely hope that this does not inconvenience you. If there is any other way in which we can help, do not hesitate to contact us again.

要求請客、接送,如果是在業務費的範圍,那試著讓對方碰軟釘子吧
Our company is currently reducing sales expenses/ entertainment expenses. With stricter rules concerning reimbursement, I’m not sure expenses for meals/ picking up customers will be reimbursed.
